The sewing pattern also includes Lýsa Mini – a smaller version, perfect for jewelry, small items, and personal essentials.

The name “Lýsa” means “to illuminate” in Old Norse and symbolises inner glow, clarity, and natural beauty.

MATERIALER

The Lýsa Beauty Bag is particularly well-suited for tightly woven, non-stretch outer fabrics, as this gives the bag structure and helps it maintain its shape beautifully over time.

The bag is constructed with plate wadding between the layers, which provides volume and a soft, padded surface. The quilting is a central part of the design, adding both character and durability.

For lining, light cotton fabrics such as cotton poplin or other thin materials work very well.

You can advantageously use recycled textiles or fabric scraps you already have. The prototype is sewn from a recycled tablecloth with cotton poplin as lining, and the quilting is inspired by an oyster shell.
